Pro Silva Austria

Pro Silva Austria was founded in 1992 as an national organisation after years participating in a working group in the Austrian Forestry Association. Pro Silva Austria allready joined Pro Silva Europa with the founding members Heinrich Reininger and Josef Spörk.

In the year 2000 Pro Silva Austria was founded as an independent association under the second chairman Josef Spörk. From there, a professional association structure was established and expanded from an initial 150 members to 460.

Pro Silva members cover a wide range of professional positions: from university professors, forest administration, private estates, farmers and other forest owners. Forest owners and managery make more than 50% of all members.

Pro Silva Austria runs an intense programme with about 10 events per year including excursions, marking exercises, seminars, discussion programmes and hosting excursions from the neighboring countries.
