Hubertus Lehnhausen was an employee in the Ministry of the Environment and Consumer Protection in Saarland for the last 10 years until his retirement in June 2020, where he was head of the Department for Supreme Hunting Authority and Head of the Forestry Authority.
Previously, he had managed a state forestry company in The Saarland. His second professional mainstay is tropical/subtropical forestry. From 1992 to 1996 he had a long-term expert assignment in West Africa (Benin) and since then again and again short-term expert assignments (including Madagascar, Haiti, Bulgaria) in addition to his work as a Saarland forestry officer.
He is a volunteer in the Nature Conservation Union Germany (NABU) in the Saarland State Board and can contribute to a good cooperation between forestry and nature conservation in the Saarland.
