Polish Interest Group

There is an interest group existing in Poland. But until now they did not establish an independent Pro Silva organisation in Poland.

They were invited and participated in the annual meeting of Pro Silva in Czech Republic in 2015. Some of them also are participating in international meetings (eg. IUFRO meeting 2018, uneavenaged forestry in Valdivia Chile).

We still hope that there will come the founding of an independed organization in Poland, that gathers young people with open mind and spirit.

Abies 2019

Dorota and Janusz will host the 50th anniversary of Abies IUFRO unit in Krakov (May 2019):

The main aim of the conference is to bring knowledge on fir species together. The experts and scientists from many countries of the world shared their knowledge on ecology and silviculture of different Abies species.

In Krakow (Poland) they will continue to exchange of knowledge and experiences on Abies species from gene and species level to population and ecosystem level. In this conference we welcome contributions in the following topics:

  • silviculture of fir species in changing environment
  • management of fir forests in different environmental conditions
  • phylogeny and gene exchange among Abies species
  • protection and conservation of Abies species in changing environmen

Conference date: 28-30 May 2019
Post-conference tour: 31 May - 2 June 2019

An interesting event also for Pro Silva !!
